WORKING AS OPTOMETRIST IN OMAN PART -2
Dear fellow Optometrist friends,
In my yesterday's blog there were some important points were left so to day please notify them:
1) It is medatory to have a license to practice Optometry in Oman the examination is held by MOH
Ministry of Health the Examination is based on Theory(Written), Practical(patient work up) and Oral (Viva Voce) the fee for exam is paid by your employer.
2) Diploma is still accepted in Oman.
3) All documents which you produce for Data flow will be verified by them physically.
4) Employer ask you to pay data flow fee but it should be born by them.
5) Before Joining any job ask for written contract which should be in English and to be signed
by both the parties.
6)make clarify A) Annual Leave Periode and about Leave Salary +Ticket. B)Working Hours 3)Sales
Target and Incentive. C) Over Time Icentive. D) Weekly Holiday.
7) You are Accepted to do sales also so be prepare for that.
8) Remember that Oman is the best country for expatriates and Labour Law is very Good but very bad is that few companies follow the labour law. you can read Omani labour law online.
9) In KSA Kingdom of Saudi Arebia Optometry Qualification of India is not accepted to practice
Optometry whoever goes there, is suppose to work as ophthalmic technician who can not prescribe glasses so the work you do there is illegal and if caught you will be fined and packed back .Even though three is a exam to work as technician there which can be appeared from India it self.
10) In Al Zaber Opticals Dubai You are not allowed to sit in the shop during the working hours.
) To work in UAE ( Dubai ,AbuDhabi ) you have to do separate data flow and exams for all the rest of gulf countries can be given through Pro metric Examination centre in India. it is advised to make it sure on line.
